
Sweden and Finland should not have any illusions that Russia will put up with them becoming a member of NATO, Russian Deputy Overseas Minister Sergei Ryabkov mentioned on Monday, including that it was a “mistake” that will have far-reaching penalties.
The Interfax information company quoted Mr Ryabkov as saying: “The scenario is, in fact, altering radically in gentle of what’s taking place.
“The truth that the safety of Sweden and Finland won’t be strengthened because of this determination could be very clear to us.
“They need to haven’t any illusions that we are going to merely put up with it.
“The final stage of navy rigidity will rise, and predictability on this sphere will lower. It’s a disgrace that widespread sense is being sacrificed to some phantom provision about what ought to be achieved on this unfolding scenario.”
