Horror as enormous ship sinks off Iran with 30 crew on board – major rescue operation

A significant rescue operation is unfolding as makes an attempt are made to avoid wasting the crew members.

To this point, 29 members of the 30-man crew have been saved.

An official from Iran’s Bushehr Province informed Iran’s official IRNA information outlet: “Twenty-nine crew members have to this point been saved, and rescue operations are persevering with to search out one other workforce member.”

Dubai-based Salem Al Makrani Cargo Firm has confirmed it was their vessel, the Al Salmy 6. 

The corporate mentioned the ship sank on Thursday because of unhealthy climate, when excessive winds and uneven seas induced the vessel to capsize.

Iranian authorities despatched two vessels to rescue the 30 crew members quickly after the accident was reported.

Meteorologists reported wind speeds of 70 kilometres per hour on the scene.

The crew consisted of nationals from Sudan, India, Pakistan, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia.

The vessel had left Dubai days earlier certain for the port of Umm Qasr in southern Iraq.
