Erika Jayne shared new details about a car accident her estranged husband, Thomas Girardi, was involved in years ago during a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Now, her castmates are reacting to her lengthy story.
After Erika revealed the attorney had lost consciousness and suffered a head injury during the crash, Sutton Stracke admitted to being confused by the story before she and her co-stars addressed Erika’s revelation regarding Thomas’ infidelities and revealed they initially found him to be “charming.”
“My ears perked up a little bit because I hadn’t heard about this accident before,” Sutton admitted on the RHOBH: After Show. “I just didn’t know why we were all of the sudden talking about this accident and why we were talking about this head injury. It was a confusing story. I got a little uncomfortable.”
According to Dorit, she and her RHOBH castmates knew Thomas had been involved in a car crash three years prior. However, she wasn’t aware of the gravity of the accident.
“Anyone being unconscious for 12 hours, and especially at his age, you’ve got all of these things going through your mind, like, a million questions,” she shared.
Also perplexed by the situation was Kyle Richards.
“It was strange to me. I thought, ‘Well I wonder why she didn’t tell us that at the time,’” Kyle confessed.
Kyle then suspected that the details of Thomas’ accident were kept secret because those around him didn’t want to expose his potential “mental decline” at a time when he was running a major law firm.
“[Or] maybe because she was scared to say how bad the accident was,” she wondered.
During another moment from the RHOBH: After Show, the cast was asked about Thomas’ infidelity.
“I was so shocked by that because first of all, I mean, you look at Erika and you look at Tom and you think, ‘He’s the one cheating here?’ It was so strange to me,” Kyle noted. “Also to think that she knew that and she still stayed with him was really surprising to me. It was very eye-opening in that moment to think she was feeling that hurt and that pain but she felt she had nowhere to go.”
While some have felt that Erika was well-aware of Thomas’ cheating, Dorit said she’s “never intimated” and “never joked” about any such thing.
Although Thomas has certainly turned into quite the villain as he and Erika continue to be faced with accusations of having stolen millions of dollars from his former clients, including widows and orphans of plane crash victims, Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton thought highly of him upon their initial encounter.
“I thought he was charming. Obviously, intelligent,” Garcelle noted. “And from talking to Erika last year, it seemed like they were really good.”
“He was really sweet and charming and hospitable and was telling stories. Actually, I was like, ‘Oh, I get it,’” Sutton agreed.
“I did too, I said to her, ‘I get it,’” Garcelle replied. “Besides this amazing life that he’s giving you and your son, he seems like a really good guy.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
