Simon Calder says UK is worst hit by travel chaos amid Heathrow cancellations

The Authorities has simply launched a 22 level plan to cope with disruption within the aviation trade.

Transport secretary Grant Shapps stated: “Holidaymakers deserve certainty forward of their first summer season getaways freed from journey restrictions.

“Whereas it’s by no means going to be doable to keep away from each single delay or cancellation, we’ve been working carefully with airports and airways to ensure they’re operating reasonable schedules.

“It’s now on airports and airways to decide to operating the flights they’ve promised or cancel them with loads of time to spare so we will keep away from the type of scenes we noticed at Easter and half time period.

“With 100 days having handed since we set out that restrictions could be eased, there’s merely no excuse for widespread disruption.”
