Passenger Locator Form error could see Brits barred from flights – ‘should be in bold’

“I wasn’t aware of the crucial factor. This was an important piece of document, you need it with you. It’s important as your double vaccination certificate.”

Luckily, Sylvia and her husband noticed this detail in the nick of time.

“We were lucky we had our laptop and I have a printer in our house in France, so we were able to do it,” she said.

Others, however, were not so lucky.

“When we did get to the airport on Friday, there was a guy in front of me and airport staff were saying: ‘No, no you can’t board,’ because he didn’t have his Passenger Locator Form.

“They wouldn’t let him on the flight.”

She continued: “I don’t know how many other people were stuck. I don’t know whether anyone else wasn’t allowed to get on because they wouldn’t have had the time to arrange a test in time.

“He would have to book this PCR test and fill out his form with the reference number, then it’s accepted.”

This is an area Sylvia thinks there “certainly should be more clarity.”

According to the website: “You must complete a passenger locator form online before you arrive in the UK.

“You can submit the form any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in the UK. You’ll need to show your form when you check in to travel or board your plane, train or ferry to the UK.”
