‘Lovely place!’ England’s best pub named as Somerset local with ‘amazing’ food – full list

The Acorn Inn in Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire took the silver award within the Go to England rankings.

The crew stated: “Talked about in Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles as ‘The Sow & Acorn’, this Sixteenth-century teaching inn is nothing wanting charming.

“In addition to its large whisky and gin assortment, the agricultural village pub homes an award-winning restaurant, cosy bar, 10 bedrooms, skittle alley and beer backyard within the coronary heart of the Dorset countryside.“

A reviewer stated: “A wee gem of an Inn, positioned in a really leafy village. Meals is excellent and the rooms very snug.”
