Vodafone Idea has announced that it will offer a free Rs 49 pack and a new combo voucher RC79 to its low-income users base. The move is aimed to help these users them stay connected during the ongoing second-wave of the pandemic.
The Rs 49 pack offers talktime worth Rs 38 and 100MB data and has 28 days validity. The RC79 combo voucher worth Rs 128 (64+64) offers the benefit of double talk time and 200MB of data with a validity of 28 days for a limited time period.
“As a special gesture, with this one-time offer, VIL will be extending benefits worth up to Rs 2,940 million to the low income group users in the country,” the telco said in statement, adding that it will benefit 60 million low-income users.
The offers from Vodafone Idea come after similar offers from Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The two telcos recently launched similar offers for their low-income subscriber base.
Airtel has announced offering recharge pack of Rs 49 free to its 5.5 crore low-income customers. Additionally, customers buying the Rs 79 recharge coupon will also get double the benefits, the company said.
“As a one-time gesture, Airtel will give the Rs 49 pack free of cost to over 55 million low income customers. The pack offers a talktime of Rs 38 and 100 MB data with a validity of 28 days. Through this gesture, Airtel will empower over 55 million customers, mostly in rural areas, to stay connected and have access to critical information when needed,” the company said in a statement.
