NEW DELHI: Google recently released the final beta for its upcoming Android 12 operating system. The company has also confirmed that it will officially roll out the stable Android 12 version in the coming weeks. Now, smartphone maker Oppo has confirmed the rollout date of Android 12-based ColorOS 12 operating system.
Oppo has confirmed that it will launch the ColorOS 12 on September 16. The company will unveil the latest operating system at a virtual launch event in China. Oppo has also announced that along with the latest OS version, the company will also launch its Reno 7 series of smartphones, a new smartwatch and Android tablet at the event.
The launch of Oppo Reno 7 will make it the first non-Google smartphone to come with Android 12 operating system.
Recently, Oppo confirmed that the ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 will be introduced by mid-to-late September. The company has also released downloadable official wallpapers of ColorOS 12. The wallpapers come with a resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels.
Apart from the wallpaper, the company also posted a short video with various geometric shapes that form into the logo of ColorOS 12. The wallpaper and the video hint at the colourful UI of ColorOS 12. On the other hand, Digital Chat Station also posted an image of the ColorOS 12 that shows the UI on mobile phones, tablets and watches.
Meanwhile, a recent online report revealed that Google will officially roll out the Android 12 operating system on October 4. According to a report by XDA Developers, Google Pixel phones will get the official Android 12 update on October 4.
XDA Developers’ Mishaal Rahman has posted an internal Google document that indicates that the tech giant will publish the source code for its latest operating system on October 4 on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
