- Woke up at 3:30 am to see Vihar drop a sitter: A fan reacted
Hanuma Vihari is not having a good time Down Under and that’s very much visible with his batting display. The middle-order batsman has scored 16, 8, 21 and 4 runs from his 4 innings in the series so far. On Day 4 of the ongoing third Test match at SCG, the tour got even more worse for him. The 27-year-old dropped a sitter on the second ball of the day and gave Marnus Labuschagne, who was then batting on 47, a chance to score 73 in the 2nd innings.
Jasprit Bumrah all most succeeded in executing the leg-side plan when Labuschagne flicked a ball towards backward square but Vihari dropped a regulation catch there. A disheartened Jasprit Bumrah could not help and he hid his face under his hands. With India already behind in the Test match, fans vented their disappointed on social media. Some even told that the Andhra Pradesh-born cricketer was not an international cricket material.
We need to be fair and transparent. Vihari is not international level. Pujara is too defensive.

What do you call someone who gets up at 3:30 am on a working day in Day 4 of a Test match with India behind to see Vihari drop a sitter and still feel India still has a chance to win if we get Smith out after those 2 wickets #INDvsAUSTest

Afraid this series might be a career ending one for Vihari. Never a good feeling. His contribution with the bat and in the field has been beyond zero, driving into the negative scale.

This Vihari seems to be sleeping right from the time he came to bat yesterday https://t.co/Hz9CLi5khr

At this level, this is unacceptable. Vihari probably still thinking about his run out.

It shows the lack of confidence Vihari has after failing with bat, still don’t know why he was chosen ahead of Mayank or Shikhar considering that he did not perform any different couple of years ago. Time to look at the selection criteria this tour @bhogleharsha @BCCI https://t.co/jlR9ofAoGp
