Pirates vs. Rockies prediction: Coors Field won’t help the home team

The Stupid Stage of the Tour de France is over. A woman holding a sign leaned into the bike path, impeded a cyclist and caused a chain reaction, knocking dozens of pedalers out. Even defiant Lance Armstrong was stunned. “No way that happened! This is ridiculous!” Officials are not clear on what the message “ALLEZ OPE-OMI” means. But experts believe the English translation is either “Free Britney” or “Go Stitches.”

Pirates-Rockies, and I haven’t been this excited since Oprah’s chat with Meghan and Harry. The Bucs’ Tyler Anderson (3-7, ERA 4.82) gave up only five hits to the White Sox in his last start but had trouble keeping them in the park. And Coors Field isn’t exactly a pitcher’s paradise. The Balboas counterpunch with Kyle Freeland (0-2, ERA 7.76). Last time Kyle threw at Coors, he was pulled after 3 ²/₃ as the Padres scored five times on nine hits. The Rockies are (WHAT!) 25-16 at home, but we will play 10 units on the Pirates.

Nats 5, Fish 1. Max Scherzer kept his cool — and his pants on — to get the W. Victory takes us to -1,365 allezopeomis.
