First, Canelo Alvarez manhandled his opponent. Then, he embarrassed another fighter.
It was a big night for arguably boxing’s premier attraction.
After he stopped Billy Joe Saunders in the eighth round of their super middleweight championship fight, Alvarez emasculated Demetrius Andrade in his post-match press conference.
Andrade, the WBO middleweight champion, interrupted Canelo answering questions to try to set up a fight.
“So when can we get something going on? Let’s make it happen,” he said. “What’s up, Canelo? Congratulations today though, good job baby, good job. I’m a big fan … but what’s up though? When can we make it happen? What you think?”
“Man, you fight with nobody. You are a champion but you fight with nobody,” Alvarez responded. “You won the belt with nobody.
“Get the f–k out of here, man. Please, get the f–k out of here. It’s my night.”
When Andrade (30-0) told him to watch his mouth, Alvarez (56-1-2) just kept on cursing at him and calling him a “horrible fighter.”
“Hey, get the f–k out of here because I’m gonna f–k you up right now motherf–ker. Hey, get the f–k out of here,” Alvarez said.
