Camille Kostek ‘blacked out’ after landing Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover

The moment Camille Kostek found out she was on the 2019 cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit has been forever immortalized on social media, but as the “Wipeout” star recently revealed, she “blacked out” at the time.

“It’s really hard for me to even say the best part because I think it was just one of those moments where I had dreamt of it for so long,” Kostek said Wednesday on Kyle Brandt’s “10 Questions” podcast, where she answered questions alongside longtime boyfriend Rob Gronkowski.

“Like, my 15-year-old self found out at, I think I was 27 years old, this is the moment. And it was that point in my life, it hit me at once, and I truly blacked out. I was sober, but I blacked out. It was just a high-on-life, euphoric moment,” the 29-year-old model continued.

Kostek, a former New England Patriots cheerleader, landed one of the three solo covers of the magazine in 2019, along with soccer star Alex Morgan and supermodel Tyra Banks.

Gronkowski, 31, said learning of his girlfriend’s career milestone was like a “double birthday” for him.

“It was incredible, and she’s blacked out from it, and she was sober, and I blacked out many times not sober,” Gronkowski told Brandt this week. “We kind of have similar traits there.”

Gronkowski and Kostek were first linked in 2015. Last month, the couple celebrated as Gronkowski and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 2021.

“Tastes like a champion. ILY @gronk,” Kostek posted to Instagram in early February.

Gronkowski came out of retirement in April 2020 to join quarterback Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. Gronkowski recently revealed he hasn’t interacted much with his former Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, since moving on with the Bucs.
