Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II dies at 99 – Eagles Vine

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and the husband of Queen Elizabeth II of England, passed away this morning at the age of 99. Recently, the Duke had been hospitalised and had undergone a major heart procedure.

An official statement from the Buckingham palace read, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”

While the unfortunate news of his sudden demise has left the world in a state of shock, many will continue to remember him as a man of honour and great patience. Throughout the 69 years of his wife’s reign and 73 years of marriage , he supported her through every thick and thin and also survived the tides of changing times.

Even into his 90s, Prince Philp continued carrying out his duties and contributed to many social causes.

The death of the Duke will be mourned by millions around the world. However, many will continue to celebrate the legacy he has left behind.
