6 books shortlisted for Booker Prize 2021 | Eagles Vine

The Booker Prize is one of the most prestigious awards given annually to the best work of fiction. The award is given to a work of fiction which is written in English and published in the UK or Ireland by writers of any nationality. This year, a shortlist of six books was announced for 2021 Booker Prize on September 14. “With so many ambitious and intelligent books before us, the judges engaged in rich discussions not only about the qualities of any given title, but often about the purpose of fiction itself. We are pleased to present a shortlist that delivers as wide a range of original stories as it does voices and styles… While each book is immersive in itself, together they are an expansive demonstration of what fiction is doing today,” Maya Jasanoff, historian and Chair of the Booker 2021 judges, said. Each shortlisted author will receive GBP 2,500; meanwhile, the winner will be announced on November 3.
