Throwback Tuesday: When Ayan Mukerji stopped Ranbir Kapoor from getting married and having children in his mid 20s – Eagles Vine

From vacationing together to film collaborations, actor Ranbir Kapoor shares a close bond with filmmaker Ayan Mukerji. While both of them have open up about their friendship from time to time, did you know Ranbir once wanted to settle down early in his life? However, it’s his old buddy Ayan who stopped him with his life advice.

During the trailer launch of Ayan’s film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, the 30-years-old actor had revealed that unlike his character Bunny from the film, he wanted to get married and have children in his mid-20s.

He said, “We are at times now where we should not give deadlines to marriage, age. When one falls in love, a wedding will happen, then children will happen. I think everything is natural progress.”

He went ahead and credited the filmmaker, “This is Ayan’s teaching to me. When I got to know him four years back, I was in a hurry to get married. I said, ‘I want to get married, I want to get married, I want to have children.’ But he would tell me, ‘Relax! You’re just starting out your career, meet people, live your life a bit then get married.’”

Currently, Ranbir is dating Alia Bhatt and the two were hoping to tie the knot in 2020. However, their plans took a different turn owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

On the work front, both Alia and Ranbir will be seen together in their upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’ helmed by Ayan Mukerji.
