Simon McCoy gifted with pack of paper as hilarious leaving gift after viral iPad mistake

More BBC colleagues shared their sadness that the presenter was moving on, many of whom shared hilarious clips of his time on Afternoon Live, which often saw him bent over the news desk, crying tears of laughter.

Dan Walker also bid his colleague a farewell, penning: “Farewell to @BBCSimonMcCoy – it’s his last day at @BBCNews today. Always enjoyed working with him & I think we’ll all miss moments like this,” he said, while sharing a famous clip of Simon making a joke out of a royal baby’s expected birth date.

He followed it up with his “favourite” moment of Simon – the paper incident.

“Still my favourite @BBCSimonMcCoy moment #WorldsThickestIpad,” he captioned the video.

Following the news, fans of the witty presenter were shocked and disappointed to learn that the gift that keeps on giving would be stepping down and taking his cheekiness with him, reacting to his very fitting leaving gift.
