Priyanka Chopra remembers father Ashok Chopra on his 8th death anniversary: It never gets easier – Eagles Vine

Actor Priyanka Chopra took to her social media handles today and revisits memories of her father Ashok Chopra on his 8th death anniversary today. Sharing a throwback picture with her father from the memoir Unfinished, Priyanka fondly wrote, “It never gets easier… love you dad♥️.”

In the photo, little PC can be seen in a duet with her father while it read, “From my earliest years, my dad and I had an understanding. Whenever he was performing at the army club he would look me in the eye during the first song. The New Year’s Eve I was five he forgot, so I started to leave in a huff. Dad jumped off the stage and pulled me up onto it with him, coaxing me into a duet-a nursery rhyme and winning my forgiveness.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra has also put up a photo of her late husband on Twitter and penned, “Forever and always loved!”

Priyanka’s father was a physician serving in the Indian Army. On 10 June 2013, he breathed his last after fight a prolonged battle with cancer at the age of 62.

In the loving memory of her father, Priyanka later inked ‘Daddy’s lil girl …’ on her wrist and later revealed in her memoir that the tattoo is in her father’s original handwriting to honour him forever.

Priyanka who is often seen remembering her late father, once even opened up about how her father’s demise affected her and dealing with it during her interview with Oprah Winfrey. She also added, “I miss most about him just how unabashedly proud of me he would be in the littlest things. Even if I am having dinner and my plate is clean, my dad would be excited. If I wore a dress that I liked, my dad would be excited. From the littlest thing to the biggest thing, he would be the loudest in the room. I miss the noise, the excitement he had, the joy and investment he had in my life and just how excited he used to be about everything about me.”
