Piers Morgan slaps down Nicki Minaj as she hints anti-vax backlash is fuelled by racism

Piers Morgan has hit back at Nicki Minaj following her comments on the anti-vaccine movement. The singer came under fire earlier today, before engaging in a Twitter row with the outspoken former Good Morning Britain presenter.

Piers was quick to respond after singer Nicki called him out for her remarks earlier today.

Following the presenter labelling her “one of the rudest little madams” he’s met, Nicki hit back.

She penned in view of her 22.6 million followers: “Sir I’ve never met you.

“I know… we all look alike. ‘Rudest little madam’. I like it.”

The presenter wrote in view of eight million followers: “Madam, we met on @AGT when you appeared as a guest act – but you refused to say hello to my three young sons because you were ‘too busy’.

“Oh, and it’s ‘Piers’ – I know, we Brit names all sound alike.”

A clip from the show in 2011 saw Nicki performing at the Semi-Finals of the show while Piers was one of the judges.

Nicki responded: “Stop f***g lying. I never turn down pics with kids. If a middle person told you that, they were out of line. Don’t blame me you stupid piece of s***.”

Earlier today, Nicki tweeted about how the reaction to her vaccine comments may be linked to her skin colour.

Referencing Joy Ann Reid’s response, she wrote: “This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets. ‘My God SISTER do better’ imagine getting ur dumb a*** on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”(sic)

User NicNastee then replied to her: “Nic shouldn’t even have to say or explain anything. It’s literally in her tweets. All ya gotta do is read. It’s that simple.”(sic)

In response, Nicki wrote: “Why would they bother to read when the lie is so juicy & provocative & got her dumb a** on TV. They got someone with black skin for a reason. They always use us against us.”

As well as this, she shared headlines earlier today which stated she had refused to be vaccinated for the Met Gala.

She wrote: “Three lies in a row from huge news platforms. I cited my young child as why I didn’t want to travel. But notice how NONE of them mentioned that? Ask yourself why that was.”

Nicki came under fire earlier today after she tweeted about a link between COVID-19 vaccines and impotence.

She posted a series of tweets about her cousin’s friend who had reportedly suffered swollen testicles and became impotent after receiving the jab.

She penned: “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent.(sic)

“His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding.

“So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”(sic)

These were referenced by chief medical officer Chris Whitty during the Downing Street news conference earlier today.

He said the singer should be “ashamed” of her comments.

Prof Whitty said: “There are a number of myths that fly around, some of which are just clearly ridiculous and some of which are clearly designed just to scare.

“That happens to be one of them.”

The chief medical officer went on to add how there are “people that go around trying to discourage other people from taking a vaccine which could be life-saving or prevent them from having life-changing injuries to themselves”.

“Many of those people I regret to say will know they are peddling untruths but they still do it,” he said. “In my view, they should be ashamed.”

Nicki responded to the moment on her own Twitter as she wrote: “I love him even tho I guess this was a diss? The accent ugh! Yassss boo!!”(sic)

The singer has also previously tweeted in favour of getting the vaccine in conversations with her followers.

She wrote on September 13 to a fan named Tasty_Minaj who said they had to get the vaccine for work.

Nicki replied: “I know babe. A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine. I’d def recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I have to go on tour, etc.”(sic)
