Not Sidharth Malhotra, Salman Khan wanted Aayush Sharma to play Vikram Batra in ‘Shershaah’ – Eagles Vine

Sidharth Malhotra has been receiving rave reviews from the audience and the critics for his performance in his recently released film, ‘Shershah’. However, did you know Salman Khan actually wanted this film to be his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma’s debut film in Bollywood?

Yes, you read it right! ‘Shershaah’ producer Shabbir Boxwala recently revealed in an interview that the ‘Dabangg’ star had approached him with Aayush’s name. However, the producer had reportedly already pitched Sidharth’s name to Batra’s family and a meeting between them was already arranged.

According to the producer, it would have been highly unethical to drop him from another actor. He added that when Captain Batra’s family gave him the rights, it was a big moment for him and he didn’t want to go wrong at any step. He then explained it to Salman who understood. Even Aayush told him that playing a double role in his debut movie would have been a tall order.

Aayush made his big Bollywood debut with ‘Loveyatri’ co-starring Warina Hussain. He is now gearing up for his next, ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ which will also star Salman in a key role. The film is being directed by none other than Mahesh Manjrekar.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman has an interesting line-up of films ahead of him which includes, ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’ co-starring Pooja Hegde. He also has ‘Kick 2’ with Jacqueline Fernandez. Apart from that, he is currently shooting for ‘Tiger 3’ where he will be sharing screen space with Emraan Hashmi for the first time. It will also star Katrina Kaif in the lead role.
