“No film was signed with Kartik Aaryan,” Aanand L Rai refutes rumours – Eagles Vine

Kartik Aaryan has once again hit headlines for losing out on a meaty project. While earlier buzz was that Kartik was in advanced talks with filmmaker Aanand L Rai for a gangster drama, it is now being reported that the deal didn’t work out.

Confirming to ETimes thatKartik was notsigned up by his production house, Aanand L Rai stated, “There was no such film signed by Kartik, all these reports are baseless.” Explaining that a lot of actors drop in to discuss projects but not all are signed, the filmmaker added, “There are so many actors who come to meet me, but that does not mean that he or she has been signed for my film.” In February this year, ETimes photographers had exclusively spotted Kartik Aaryan in conversation with Aanand L Rai, outside the filmmaker’s office. The filmmaker was reportedly planning the Hindi remake of Tamil romantic comedy ‘Kalayana Samayal Saadam’ with Kartik, but there was no confirmation.

Previously, Kartik Aaryan voluntarily dropped out of a love story, that was being produced by Shah Rukh Khan. He apparently had creative difference with regards to the script and had expressed the same to the film’s director Ajay Bahl. This romantic drama had Kartik Aryan paired opposite Katrina Kaif.

Apart from this, Kartik Aaryan also stepped down from Karan Johar produced ‘Dostana 2’. He had shot extensively for this romantic drama with Janhvi Kapoor. The makers of ‘Dostana 2’ are now planning to rope in Rajkummar Rao to replace Kartik Aaryan.
