While each of the actors’ agencies has confirmed their presence at Cannes, sources added that their flight schedule is will be set private, owing to the safety amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Lee Byung Hun will be becoming the first Korean actor to present an award at the festival. Talking about it, his agency BH Entertainment has revealed that the category he will present is yet to be decided
Song Kang Ho, on the other hand, will be seen as this year’s jury for feature films alongside Spike Lee, Mati Diop, Mylène Farmer, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jessica Hausner, Mélanie Laurent, Kleber Mendonça Filho, and Tahar Rahim.
Interestingly, earlier Sang Kang Ho’s ‘Parasite’ made history by becoming the first Korean film to bag the title of the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Hong Sang-Soo’s ‘In Front of Your Face’ has also made it to this year’s premiere section of the festival.
The annual festival in Cannes will take place on 16 and 17 July where winners will be picked among the 24 shortlisted names for the 9 categories.
