Jamie Redknapp linked to The Masked Singer after ex Louise recognises contestant’s voice

The Masked Singer UK viewers have speculated Jamie Redknapp, 47, could be a hidden celebrity on the top-secret show after his ex-wife Louise Redknapp, 46, said she believes Bush Baby is someone she knows. The final eight remaining celebrities sang once again this evening in a bid to keep their identities hidden.

Following Bush Baby’s performance this evening, Louise took to Twitter to share her thoughts.

She wrote: “This #bushbaby sounds very much like someone I know! @MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSingerUK.”

Fans were quick to speculate her ex husband Jamie could be one of the hidden celebrities.

One wrote: “Surely Jamie would have been disguised as a bird having played for Spurs and Liverpool?”

Another commented: “I think Jamie is Robin.”

Jamie was linked to the show last year after fans were convinced he was the celebrity behind the Tree, following multiple football clues.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he denied he was involved with the show.

He said: “Can I say if that’s me or not? No it’s not me. I don’t even know what it was. I kept getting messages saying, are you a tree? I was like, well, yeah if you want me to say that it’s fine.

The singer sent a text to Martine to ask if it was her after telling Twitter fans she recognised the voice.

Addressing this on This Morning, the EastEnders actress said: “I felt so bad because she was texting me, ‘It is you?’ And I was like, I’m under contract I can’t say.

“I was just ignoring her, it was annoying, I didn’t know what to do.”

But after the news of her being behind the mask was out, she later responded to her friend and apologised for ignoring her.

She added: “And in the end, I was like, ‘I’m so sorry Louise, you were spot on’.”

Despite speculation, Bush Baby was unveiled as Coronation Street actor John Thomson this evening.

He joins Sophie Ellis Bextor, Mel B, Martine McCutcheon, Glenn Hoddle as the celebrities who have been unveiled so far.

The Masked Singer continues next Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
