Ishaan Khatter shares noteworthy Meryl Streep quote after Kangana Ranaut compares herself to a multi-Oscar winner – Eagles Vine

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut hit social media trends again when she declared that she has raw talent like multi-Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep. The beauty, who didn’t hold back on the self-appreciation posts, compared herself to a range of Hollywood heavyweights including Tom Cruise, ‘Godfather’ star Marlon Brando and ‘Wonder Woman’ Gal Gadot.

The posts gave way to social media memes and even lead to the names of the Hollywood stars trending high on social media. Interestingly, at a time when Kangana’s tweet comparing herself to Meryl went viral, fellow Bollywood star Ishaan Khatter shared a rather humbling and noteworthy quote by the Hollywood legend.

Taking to his Instagram Stories, Ishaan posted a throwback quote of Meryl that read, “My achievement, if you can call it that, is that I’ve basically pretended to be extraordinary people my entire life, and now I’m being mistaken for one.”

In her tweet, Kangana said she was “open for debate if anyone can show me more range and brilliance of craft than me by any other actress on this planet”.

The actress made her assertion sharing several images from her upcoming films, ‘Thalaivi’ and ‘Dhaakad’. The photographs showed her physical transformation, for her two different roles.

“Massive transformation alert, The kind of range I display as a performer no other actress on this globe has that right now, I have raw talent like Meryl Streep for layered character depictions but I can also do skilled action and glamour like Gal Gadot #Thalaivi #Dhaakad,” she wrote.

“I am open for debate if anyone can show me more range and brilliance of craft than me by any other actress on this planet I promise to give up my arrogance until then I can surely afford the luxury of pride #Thalaivi #Dhaakad,” she added.

When one user wrote “Kangana and Meryl Streep in one breath? BLASPHEMY. Kangana is nowhere close to Meryl and can never be. Why is Kangana so pompous?”, the actress wondered why many “worship white people.”

“I honestly want to know why do we worship white people? Forget their budgets and our age gap, tell me about just acting can she do Thalaivi and Dhaakad? Queen and Tanu? Fashion and Panga? Kaya and Datto? Answer is she can’t, then why not emerge from the deep-rooted complex?” Kangana shared.

On the work front, the actress is currently working on her spy thriller ‘Dhaakad’, which will see her play the role of Agent Agni, while Arjun Rampal will be seen as the antagonist named Rudraveer. The film directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai is slated to release on October 1, 2021.
