How Prashanth Neel’s film with Jr NTR came into place – Eagles Vine

On May 20, filmmaker Prashanth Neel surprised everyone as he announced that his next film after Salaar with Prabhas would be with Jr NTR, with a special wish to the Telugu star on his birthday. This has led to fans celebrating this news, since Jr NTR has always shown his love for Karnataka and Kannada. Interestingly, this film, which was announced only now, has been in the works since a while.

For starters, there have been speculations about Jt NTR and Prashanth teaming up even before the latter began work on KGF. Jr NTR had loved Prashanth’s debut directorial film Ugramm and there were even reports back in the day that the two would collaborate for a remake of the film. The news, though, went into the backburner especially when Prashanth got busy with his two part magnum opus KGF that featured Yash in the lead.

After the release of the first part of KGF, the news of Prashanth being someone who was being sought after by many Telugu producers and stars came back in the news when there were two advertisements by two leading Telugu production houses on the filmmaker’s birthday in Bangalore Times. One among the two ads was by Mythri Movie Makers, who are incidentally backing the film with Jr NTR.

Then, Prashanth had begun working on the second part of KGF, but last May, he had taken to social media to specially wish Jr NTR. He had written, “So finally I know how it feels like to sit next to a nuclear plant. Next time, bringing my radiation suit to be around all the crazy energy,” as he praised the Tollywood star. Finally, it was a year later that the planning and preparations have taken fruition and the team launched the news.

With the filmmaker waiting to see the release of KGF: Chapter 2, while also working on Salaar on a brisk pace, it remains to be seen whether he will begin working with Jr NTR this year itself.
