Director Ram Madhvani set to roll out historical web series based on Jallianwala Bagh – Eagles Vine

Ram Madhvani who tasted success with his Filmfare Award-winning OTT venture ‘Aarya’, may just be getting ready to push the barriers of storytelling with his ambitious new historical drama. Buzz is that the critically acclaimed filmmaker who has worked on films like the Sonam Kapoor starrer ‘Neerja’ and the Kartik Aaryan-lead ‘Dhamaka’, will now turn back the pages of the history books for a web series based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Sources close to the project tell ETimes, “Ram Madhvani is working on his next original web series based on Jallianwala Bagh. It is tentatively titled ‘Jallianwala Bagh: The Waking Of A Nation’. The series that will soon go into production this year is based on research from the Hunter Commission that was formed to investigate what really happened in Punjab, especially at Jallianwala Bagh.”

“It is created by Madhvani and is one of the projects he is going to be producing under his banner Ram Madhvani Films,” the source adds.

News of Madhvani’s project comes shortly after Bollywood director Karan Johar announced his new movie which will also be based on the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The filmmaker revealed that the movie will capture real-life events and will be helmed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
