When it comes to grand romantic gestures to make your partner swoon, (and netizens go awww), Ranveer Singh is the uncrowned king. So, it was only expected that when the actor celebrated his birthday yesterday, wife Deepika Padukone would return the favour! The actress, known to be a stickler for keeping to her schedules, has taken the day off from the shoot of her next, to spend the day with the birthday boy. Deepika is currently shooting for Pathan’, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham.

Informs a source from the unit, “Deepika commenced the shoot for the film on July 1 and had requested the production house to give her an off on July 6 — well in advance.”

The Bollywood couple, who will be seen sharing the screen space in Kabir Khan’s upcoming film 83’, sent the netizens in a tizzy when indulged in some PDA on social media lately. When Ranveer posted a series of pictures of himself looking dapper in shorter hair and dressed in black T-shirt, Deepika commented and publicly declared that the actor is hers. “MINE (sic)”, she wrote in the comment section.

Deepika fell in love with Ranveer during the shoot of ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ (2013). For Ranveer, however, it was love at first sight. The two tied the knot in 2018 in Italy following a courtship of almost five years. They got engaged in 2014 four years before they exchanged nuptial vows, which was a fiercely- guarded secret. During an interview, talking about the engagement, Deepika had said, “We got engaged four years ago. No one knows this. Only his parents and my parents and our respective sisters knew about it.”
