BTS’ ‘Butter’ debuts at No 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 chart; ecstatic K-Pop stars say ‘thank you ARMY’ – Eagles Vine

BTS slid its way to the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with their latest summer hit ‘Butter’.

Overjoyed with the news that broke late Tuesday night, the boys took to their official handle to say “Thank you ARMY”.

The celebrations are only just getting started for RM, V, JungKook, J-hope, SUGA, Jin and Jimin. Besides coming together to pose for a cheery picture, the group also shared a photo of V from the ‘Butter’ press con that saw him flash the number 1 hand sign while posing for a photocall.

With this, ‘Butter’ marks the superstar K-Pop band’s fourth Hot 100 No. 1, all in the last nine months. This has made them the fastest act to hit the mark since Justin Timberlake a decade-and-a-half ago.

BTS has also become the first group to land its fastest first four No. 1s on the chart since the Jackson 5 in 1970.

Also making Billboard history was singer Olivia Rodrigo. The singer who dropped her album ‘Sour’ last month, had three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10. ‘Good 4 U’ came in on the No. 2 spot with ‘Deja Vu’ ranking at No. 3; and ‘Traitor at No. 9. This made her the first artist to chart three songs in the Hot 100’s top 10 simultaneously from a debut album.

Meanwhile, ‘Sour’ made its way to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with the biggest week for an album so far in 2021.
