Britney Spears is switching up her look.
On Wednesday night, the pop star, 39, posted an Instagram photo showing off a new short, shoulder-length haircut.
“Cut my hair 💇🏼♀️ !!!! You know what they say …. out with the old …. in with the new !!!!! Now let us pray 😉💋🙂✨ !!!!,” she captioned the selfie.
Boyfriend Sam Asghari approves of the new ‘do; “I love it,” he commented. “RHONY” star Leah McSweeney said, “Gorgeous.”
Friend and choreographer Brian Friedman commented that the bob “takes me back to 2000,” the last time that Spears had a shorter hair length.
In fact, hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos tells Page Six Style that Brit was indeed inspired by her early career.
“She just wanted a change so I’m very honored she trusts me and let me make such a big change since she hasn’t had such short hair for many years now!,” the hairstylist told us. “I decided to give her a shag bob with some ’90s and early 2000s inspired vibes as her hair was when she started!”
The layered chop is reminiscent of “The Rachel,” the classic ’90s cut made famous by Jennifer Aniston’s “Friends” character — and Britney isn’t the only one revisiting the look these days.
Chrissy Teigen recently drew comparisons to the iconic ‘do after showing off her own haircut, and both Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid have taken inspiration from “The Rachel” this year.
