Raj Kundra stepped out of jail on September 21 and reunited with his family after nearly two months. The businessman was arrested for his involvement in alleged production and distribution of pornographic content. As he exited the jail, it was Shilpa Shetty’s bodyguard who protectively escorted him to the car and even risked it all to get his boss home safely. A video going viral on the internet see Ravi guarding Raj and later he is spotted running ahead of Raj Kundra’s car as the businessman arrived at his Juhu bungalow. Netizens are praising Shilpa Shetty’s bodyguard for his dedication towards the couple.

Revealing details about Raj’s exit from jail, a source had previously told ETimes, “Shilpa Shetty’s boy Ravi went inside the jail and was carrying a fresh pair of clothes for Raj Kundra. He changed, put a teeka and then stepped out of jail. Raj was extremely emotional when he stepped out and was in tears. He avoided all the media frenzy and photographers and got into a car waiting for him, which then took him to his Mercedes, which was waiting at a distance to ferry him home.”

On September 15, the property cell of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch had filed a supplementary chargesheet before a Mumbai magistrate court against Raj Kundra. The nearly 1,500 page chargesheet named Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi and one Yash Thakur as absconding accused. Police also stated that they have attached details of the exchange of emails and WhatsApp chats between Kundra and the other accused, 24 hard disks containing pornographic material were seized from Kundra’s office and other evidence to the supplementary chargesheet. Post this, Raj had applied for bail, claiming that he was being made a “scapegoat” and that there was no evidence in the supplementary chargesheet of him being actively involved in the creation of alleged questionable content.
