‘Apne 2’: Director Anil Sharma reveals US expert will train Karan Deol for the movie – Eagles Vine

Anil Sharma is all set to bring the Deols together once again for the much-awaited sequels of ‘Apne’. Apart from Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra, the movie will also star Karan Deol in the lead role.

Spilling some beans on the movie, Anil recently told a news portal that they are waiting for an international action director from the US who will reportedly train Karan for the movie. The filmmaker also revealed that the actor has meanwhile, already started his prep work in boxing with other trainers.

The initial plan of the makers was to start shooting for the movie by March-April 2021. However, owing to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, they postponed the shooting indefinitely. Sharma reportedly said that they are planning to resume the shoot once the lockdown eases. They are planning to begin their London schedule by September this year. The film reportedly requires a boxing arena and a huge crowd, which cannot be executed effectively with social distancing.

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, Anil Sharma opened up about his equation with the Deols. He said, “When you work with someone extensively throughout your career, you obviously form a bond with them. And the Deols are such good people that you just become one with them. Dharam ji has been in this industry for the past 60 years but he is still a simpleton and doesn’t consider himself a superstar. He hails from a small town called Sahnewal in Punjab. Dharam ji calls himself Sahnewal’s farmer. He was a huge fan of Dilip Kumar and used to dream about coming to Mumbai and becoming an actor. He is still the same.”

Elaborating further, he added, “Even after having such an illustrious career, he is still as excited for a film like a debutant. Even today, he calls the camera the love of his love. He once told me that ‘To be a good actor, you need to be a good person first’ and you see Dharam ji being exactly like that. Karan Deol has also been brought up with good values. Despite being a part of such a big family, he is simple and grounded. I absolutely adore them all.”
